With a 44 year career as a teacher and school administrator working for a vast array of public school districts and charter schools in New York and Arizona, Fred is a lifelong educator. He holds a BA from Brooklyn College, an M.Ed. from William Paterson University, and an Advanced Certificate in School Administration from the State University of New York at Albany.
Fred has served as a Building Representative for his local chapter of New York State United Teachers, a Board Member for Congregation Gates of Heaven in Schenectady, NY and Congregation NefeshSoul in Chandler, AZ, Chair of the Continuity Committee of the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, a Board Member of the Organizing Institute for Democracy, and has been a volunteer for numerous political causes and candidate campaigns in both New York and Arizona. He currently serves as a Democratic Precinct Committeeperson in Arizona LD18, a Member of the State Committee for the Arizona Democratic Party, on the Executive Board of the Arizona Association for Retired Americans, and on the Steering Committee of Arizona Jews for Justice.
Fred and his wife Sheryl have been married for 50 years. They have two sons and two grandchildren and reside in Phoenix, Arizona with their labradoodle Clifton.
