Yolanda is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, Luis and Lupe Bejarano. She grew up in Roll, Arizona, a small farming town outside of Yuma, with a population of just over 500. Her father was a farmworker who worked hard to try to provide a better life for his six children. The stark inequalities on the farm between the immigrant workers living in poverty and the rich landowners left an impression that continues to guide Yolanda’s fight for justice for all workers.

Yolanda is a Senior Campaign Lead with Communications Workers of America where she recruits and trains union members on building worker power through electoral work. She has registered over 200 workers to vote and has facilitated over 50 trainings for union members focused on political and leadership development. She has led the political field program for CWA in Arizona and has helped numerous candidates get elected to office.

Yolanda serves on Congressman Ruben Gallego's Women's Advisory Committee, Senator Mark Kelly's transition team, and the City of Phoenix Workforce and Development Board.
